What is the weather like in Costa Rica in December?
December in Costa Rica is warm and sunny - it's the start of the dry season, with daytime temps in the mid-70s and 80sF (21 to 29 Celsius). Evenings can be breezy, so we recommend bringing a light layer. Occasional showers may still occur as the rainy season tapers off.
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please try to RSVP by end of July if possible since that is when the room block rates expire. Please make sure to RSVP by the end of September so we can have a final guest count.
What should I wear?
Dress code is a fusion of Indian attire and tropical formal. On the Events page, we provide a few more details along with color palettes for the two events. But you being there is the most important thing, so make sure you are comfortable and ready to celebrate!
If you want to wear one Indian outfit and one western, we encourage you to wear Indian outfits to the Sangeet, as that will incorporate lots of Indian traditions.
What else should I pack?
Sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes, raincoat, swimwear, and a good sense of adventure. We'll be in paradise!
Should I rent a car?
It's not necessary, as you can prebook a shuttle or even an Uber. The resort also has details on its website to arrange this for you.
However, if you want to check out other parts of Costa Rica before or after our celebrations, or just prefer to have a car, check out the travel page for more information.
We are looking into arranging shuttles on specific days and times, so check back on this page for more information.
Which airport should I fly into?
There are two major airports in Costa Rica : Liberia (LIR) and San Jose (SJO). While both the airports are 2 hours 45 minutes from the Arenal Springs Resort, we recommend to book the flights to and from Liberia airport.
Liberia is a smaller airport so getting in and out is easier. San Jose is the capital city so traffic can be unpredictable.
What is sangeet?
A sangeet is a vibrant pre-wedding celebration in Indian weddings, typically held the day before the ceremony. It's a time for music, dancing, food and drinks, and fun festivities as both families come together to welcome the bride and groom.
We plan to combine our sangeet with a Mehndi ceremony where you can get henna [mehndi] if you want!
When do I need to book my stay?
If you plan to stay at Arenal Springs Resort, please try to make your reservations ideally by the end of June. The block room rates will be available till the end of July, so please prioritize making the reservations before then.
Do I have to stay at Arenal Springs Resort?
Of course not! Staying there will make it easy as all the events will be held on the resort property, but please feel free to stay wherever you'd like!
What is your wedding hashtag?
Great question! We haven't thought of the perfect hashtag yet, so please send your best suggestion our way!
